Live on Mission!
Click onto gdshp.ch/simplesteps for "Simple Steps to Start Living on Mission" with Alex Absalom of Dandelion Resourcing on Monday, September 21st at 7pm! In this Zoom workshop, you will learn why it is essential for followers to work out how to live as missionaries right where you live, work, study, and play. This is especially true during this coronavirus time, when larger church gatherings aren’t possible. You will be shown three very simple, clear next steps that you can take - leaving you encouraged and equipped to take your unique next step towards helping lost neighbors, friends, and family encounter the love of Jesus!

2020 Flu Vaccines
Flu vaccines for 2020 will be available at GS by appointment on Sunday, October 4th from 11-12:30pm for 9 years and older or if you need to receive the vaccine at home. Please call the church office, 562/493.2553 x200, and leave a message. You will be contacted to verify a time or if you wish to leave your name for a home visit. Blood Drive - September 30th
Red Cross Blood Drive at Good Shepherd on Wednesday, September 30th, by appointment from 12-6pm. To schedule your appointment, go to RedCrossBlood.org and enter sponsor code: shepherd or call 1.800.733.2767. All blood donations are now tested for COVID-19 antibodies as an additional health service to donors. Results will be available in 7 to 10 days. All CDC guidelines for COVID-19 safety precautions will be followed. Masks and sanitizing will be provided. Giving blood is lifesaving. Blood supplies must be continuously replenished, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when donations are less than usual. If you are feeling healthy, please consider booking your appointment today.

Dinner & Conversation!
Women's Ministry has three Zoom events! Each night will start with a testimonial from one of our own GS ladies. There will be an opportunity to discuss the novel, The Red Tent (an easy read, loosely based on the story of Dinah in Genesis), or have fellowship time with ladies. If you choose to participate in the book discussion, please read Part 1 by September 28th. For Our Children
Good Shepherd Kids is continuing to stay on an online format! Click Here to check out Week 3 of Kid's Church! In your Kid's Church bags, look for the bag labeled 3 and also pull out the poster board as we will be using those this week! The only extra your kids will need are some poster board supplies such as markers, stickers, and glitter!

For Our Youth
Monday at 2:30pm: Join our GS Youth Online Zoom Meetings for a time of connecting, playing games, laughing, and a short Bible study. Josh will send out a Zoom meeting link via text message ahead of time.
Thursdays from 5-6pm: Middle and High school meet at the Seal Beach Pier for a walk to decompress and connect with each other. Masks are required.
Changes to the above schedule are sent out by text message. Email Josh Higgins at josh@gspc.org to be put on the contact list.
Youth Life Groups will be starting up in the fall. Groups will practice social distance guidelines as they learn what the Bible has to say about the tough times Jesus went through and how we can follow his example as we all face tough times together.

Be in Prayer
For Margot Overholt (recovering from a stroke), Belinda MacLeod and family on the passing of Neil MacLeod on September 13th, Evie Anderson's Mom (recovering from a fall), Vonnie Lindgren (following hip surgery), Marilyn Austin (hip surgery, mother of Marsha Stanton), Pat Pearce (recovering from illness), Molly Isle (following surgery for a brain tumor), Joe Ryan (cancer treatments), John Merchant (recovering from hip replacement), Jaime (Judy Rogers' daughter, experiencing spiritual warfare), Lorraine Porter (heart), LaRae Boone (cancer), Lamar Wall (declining health), and Ginney Elmgreen (who is undergoing treatments). Prayer for essential workers and for strength. Prayer that during this difficult season, God would use us to draw new believers to a life of following Jesus. Families and teachers/educators who are in "back to school mode", all those affected by the CA wildfires and who have friends/loved ones being impacted by COVID-19.
