Precept Bible Study
Join us for a study examining what the Bible says about true worship and exploring solid, biblical principles for making worship a lifestyle. Six-week class begins Wednesday, July 17th, 6:45-8:15pm in the Choir Room. Discussion led by Talbot Jaeger. Cost of the book is $9. Save the Date!
Women's Ministry has two events coming in the Fall. Women's Ministry Connection Event and Potluck on Friday, September 27th, 6pm in the Fireside Room. We will learn how to reflect our dreams and make a vision board from them, led by Juliana Parker. Our yearly Women's Retreat, November 1st-3rd, at Miracle Hot Springs. Rev. Andrea Messinger will be speaking on our theme "Anchored in Him". Registration information to follow.

Day Trip
Plan to join us on Sunday, July 14th, 11-5:30pm, as we travel to the Disney Concert Hall to enjoy the Bastille Day program with the Disney Concert organ as well! Cost: $60. Lunch on your own. Waiting list only. Sign up at the Senior Adult table on the patio.

Sunday School Teachers
We are looking for volunteers who are willing to help substitute for our Sunday School teachers for a July through August commitment. Two teachers are needed: 9am-Pre-K teacher and 10:45am-Kinder/First. There are opportunities to serve every week, once a month, or somewhere in between. Fourth Annual Rising TIDE Charity Golf Event
Don't miss the Rising TIDE Golf, Dinner and Silent Auction event on Monday, August 12th! The event will again be held at El Dorado Golf Course in Long Beach. This is a major fundraising event for Rising TIDE, the afterschool program at Covenant Church in downtown Long Beach. You are encouraged to attend the Dinner and Auction events without golfing. Vacation Bible School Needs YOU!
If sharing Jesus with kids PK-5th grade makes you smile then you'll want to volunteer for VBS, July 22nd-26th. The kids in Kindergarten would specifically love to have you as their teacher. S.H.I.P. (Self-Help Interfaith Program)
S.H.I.P. is coming back to Good Shepherd from August 3rd-17th. Thank you Good Shepherd members for faithfully supporting this program for over 20 years. We will need dinners and members to sleep overnight when S.H.I.P. is docked here. Sign ups to begin in July.

VBS Craft Needs

VBS Science Needs
Items needed are: empty 2-liter soda bottles, 250 old CDs or DVDs, 120-chopsticks with a tapered end on one side, 500-washers 1/8"x1", 100-red solo cups, 100-dixie cups (3oz.), 250-index cards (3x5), scotch tape (20 rolls NOT from the dollar store), blue tape, 30-ball pump needles, bike pumps (to borrow). Donations can be brought into the church office marked VBS.

VBS Snack Needs
Donations needed are: 5 pound bag of tangerines, 3-large 66 oz. boxes of Goldfish, 1-large 24 oz. bag popcorn (Smart & Final), 4-20 oz. bags of Pretzels, 2-120 oz. tubs of M&Ms (Costco), 200 oz. caramel sauce (15-15oz. bottles or larger available at Smart & Final), 22-10 oz. bags of mini-marshmallows (MINI please-easier to melt), 132 oz. Rice Krispies (8-18 oz. boxes or equivalent), 3 pounds butter, 42-5.9 oz. boxes Jello chocolate pudding (6 servings each), and 9 gallons whole milk. Please bring these items by the church office after July 12th marked VBS.

If you would like to provide flowers in the Sanctuary for worship in 2019, please stop by or call the church office to sign up. Dates available are July 28th, September 8th, 15th, 22nd.
